Apparently singer Rihanna not only loves tattoos, she has decided she would like to give them as well. Unfortunately, her scratcher ambitions have landed the diva in hot water with the New York police dept.
For some ungodly reason three of the tattoo artists who work at her favorite tattoo studio, East Side Ink, allowed the tattooed singer to pick up the holy instrument of tattooing and apply an umbrella and the letter “R” on their collective hides. A big no-no in the eyes of the NYC Law Department.
According to the NYC Department Ri-Ri could be slapped with three misdemeanor charges with fines of $300 for the first offence, $500 for the second, and $1,000 for the third. A grand total of $1800. Not a very huge sum for a pop singer, but still, more than most would care to fork out.
East Side Ink will be in it’s own hot water for allowing Rihanna to indulge her fantasy with hefty fines of their own as the NYC Law Department is opening it’s own investigation saying, “”Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City’s Health Code. We are sending someone down to follow up on this.”
At this point I have to wonder; What the fuck were they thinking?! Knowing the law, and knowing just how much training goes into learning the art of tattooing, why would any artist allow an untrained scratcher to practice on their hide? Celebrity or not?! That’s just ignorant.
Dudes, I know she’s cute, I know she’s a celebrity, but damn! Talk about a major brain fart!
